Speak Easy The essential guide to speaking in public Maggie Eyre Helen Clark 9781921966859 Books Reviews

  • I was asked to give a one hour talk to a group of 30-40 people on a subject I knew a great deal about. However, I have avoided most public speaking my whole life and therefore had no experience or confidence in this area. I figured this book was worth a shot. I'm glad I picked it up! It has many great tips and suggestions for various types of public speaking situations that are easy to remember and utilize and it got me through my presentation. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs this kind of bump to get them going in public speaking.
  • I was lucky enough to attend a Fresh Eyre workshop and meet Maggie and her colleagues. I was gifted a signed copy of this book and after reading it would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to take their public speaking to the next level. There are so many tangible takeaways and actionable insights in every section.

In the lead up to a talk/presentation this book doesn't leave my side. Even 10 minutes before my last talk I was still reading the confidence section. Its fantastic. This will definitely stay in my arsenal.

I intend on gifting a copy of this book to many acquittances, friends, and colleagues. Order your copy now.
  • During a time when I was achieving successes in my career, I came to realise the two things no one teaches you naturally is charisma and the ability to present confidently. Speak Easy challenged my entire paradigm surrounding who I am as a professional for the better. I now look at previously daunting situations with excitement and seek out opportunities to practise and further test my skills in presenting. A real changing moment in my life which I will forever reflect on.
  • This is my go-to guide each time I am required to write a speech, present, or deal with the media. It is easy to read, understand and sets out clearly what is needed to prepare before each engagement. Particularly useful was the section on the media, and how to work with them to mutual benefit avoid the pitfalls. Whilst it will take a lot to take the fear out of public speaking for me, I feel thoroughly prepared and thus significantly less nervous after following Maggie's professional advice. A must have book for my personal development library.
  • Public speaking is my number one fear - this book provides good practical steps to overcome these fears. It has become my 'go to' guide/help book in preparation for a speech. I would recommend this fantastic book to anyone that has a requirement to speak in public, from those that have a complete fear of public speaking through to those that just want to improve their public speaking skills.
  • This book was really great, really helped me with not only my public speaking but also my public persona. Its gives practical tips and advice that I actually felt comfortable doing.
