I know, because I was that guy.
When I was 36 years old, I was 410 pounds. I had already lost and GAINED over 500 pounds by that point and I had all but given up. I was hopeless and, worse yet, I felt as if no one understood me and what my life was like. I thought I was beyond help.

This book outlines the program that I used to regain my health and go from obese to normal, right at the age that things could have gone either way. I am no longer on the brink of diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure or any of the other chronic illnesses that plague our society. And it's shockingly simple. - Books like this are typically either a self-congratulating story that tells the what and why but not the how. Or a book that gives a ton of science to make the same point over and over again (so you really only needed to read the first chapter).
This book is different.
Yes, you'll hear stories, but they are powerful in that they illuminate the solution that will actually work for you. This book balances stories with science, and real-world, actionable advice that you really can implement yourself.
Reading this book could literally save your life. - If your goal is to live a more healthy life, regain agility, lose weight... this book will certainly inspire you! While Josh's story is beyond amazing (yet easily verifiable with a quick Youtube search), his method is definitely doable.
He and his co-author Howard start with a few big promises. And by big, I mean huge. They claim (paraphrasing from the book)
1. That by making a modest set of changes in your life you can become a happy, vibrant, passionate, in-love-with-yourself person…
2. That as your transformation takes place, you'll naturally and effortlessly shed extra pounds…
3. That living at your ideal weight will be a lot more fun and rewarding than eating all your favorite foods…
Those are some big promises.
And yet, these two authors more than support those claims with a simple, actionable plan that's worked for the many people they've coached.
It's an easy, fast read that could potentially change your (and your loved ones) lives for the better. Highly recommended. - Josh and Howard have given us a great gift for the holidays!! - Amidst all the brightly colored packages and noise of fast food “restaurantsâ€, voices of reason are beginning to ring through. It is hard to truly love your life if you hate your body. A few years ago, I started to think about how I’d like to look and feel in three years. The simple answer was Different. If that’s your answer to the same question, starting with this book is an easy first step. If you’ve already made it to “Different†(and yes, I did), then use this book as a tool to further solidify your success. If you’ve made it to “Different†and you don’t need help (not me—I love the help), buy this to help Josh and Howard because lots of people behind us need someone to show them the first step. P.S. if you read the book but are afraid of trying, just give it a go. You don’t have to tell anyone until you’re ready to say something—or until they start asking you why you look amazing—but just try it. Show yourself the kindness in just giving this a go.
- Josh LaJaunie knows from what he speaks. I have followed several different programs and been paleo, been not paleo, counted macros and his example and continued success are to me what brought me to follow him into Big Change Program.
